Nancy J. Johnson is of Mississippi Choctaw and Chickasaw heritage and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and licensed with the Academy of Certified Social Workers. Nancy recently retired from the Indian Health Service after 30 years of service as a Clinical Social Worker and Director of the Behavioral Health Department for the Clinton Service Unit. Nancy worked for nearly 20 years as a member of the Cheyenne & Arapaho Child Protection Team.

Nancy is a welcomed team member to FirstNation Health and provides the company with analysis on IHS related issues including but not limited to the obligations of insurers under ERISA to pass along "Medicare-like rates" for all qualifying tribal members, a highly valuable tribal-specific benefit under federal law which most of the multi-billion dollar insurance carriers do not or cannot pass along to tribes.

Nancy earned her Masters of Social Work degree from Oklahoma University in 1984 and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University with a minor in Native American Studies from Oklahoma State University in 1982. Nancy has been a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers since 1989 and a member of the National Association of Social Workers since 1989.

Nancy currently resides in Oklahoma City, OK.
